From the track to Trigon, how Mark Irwin found bare boxing

Naked boxer Mark Irwin recently signed an extended contract with BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle, but he made his athletic debut on the ring.

You have to be a unique individual to take on nude boxing, and that’s an adjective that perfectly describes BYB Extreme, Mark Irwin.

Irwin is 2-0 as a professional boxer and a naked boxer. He found combat sports in life, but is making the most of his opportunities at the age of 34.

Irwin did not start boxing until he was 23 years old. Prior to that, he was a collegiate distance runner at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California.

“I ran for two seasons at Saddleback College here in Orange County, California,” Irwin told FanSided. “And in fact, I ended up dropping out of school. I started amateur boxing, and I’ve been doing it ever since.”

While Irwin excelled on the track as an athlete, he wasn’t feeling very excited on an academic level with college. The track wasn’t enough to keep Irwin enrolled, and he left the study without an obvious next step.

“I’ve never been so schooly,” Irwin said. “You know, I was never very much, you know, hitting the books as a kid. It wasn’t like that for me. I don’t know if there was much of a plan involved. But I dropped out of school. I started boxing.”

After leaving school, Irwin had some friends who were boxing exercises outside their garage. He was invited to check it out, and Erwin introduced his friends to work on his first day.

“In terms of martial arts training, frankly, I had some friends who were taking garage lessons one day in my early twenties,” Irwin said. “And they brought me with me. I hit all my friends, and I enjoyed doing it. I’ve been training ever since.”

Erwin fell into boxing, saw that he had talent and decided to continue it. He had a background in sports science from college, so Irwin knew how to train his body.

Irwin was addicted to boxing and devoted himself to his boxing training. Again, with a little plan, Irwin thought he would compete as an amateur and train others in the gym to generate income.

He had no aspirations to become a professional. Erwin pursued his quintessential enjoyment of boxing. He didn’t do it for the money.

So I started competing, and I started winning fights,” Erwin said. “And as you know, it became full time working in the gym, training and training people full time. I won two major championships with American boxing and won the state championship for two years in a row. Then I got involved in refereeing for a while with the USA Boxing team as a judge and judging for events. local”.

Then the epidemic struck. USA Boxing could not host the events, so Irwin’s management career was discontinued. Then he got a chance to realize a dream. He was offered a professional fight in Tijuana, Mexico, and he took the opportunity.

“That was when we really started boxing professionally in Mexico,” Erwin said. “And we had two battles in Tijuana.”

Irwin’s record is 2-0, with 1 KO as a professional boxer. He may have had more victories as a traditional boxer, but his fighting athletic trajectory changed unexpectedly, which seems to happen regularly throughout Irwin’s life.

Wheels of Confidence in Destiny once again intervened in Irwin’s life in the form of YouTubers.

“So I was watching YouTube one day, and by chance, an awkward fight broke out over my algorithm,” Erwin recalls. And I watched the fight. And I was like, Wow, this is crazy. This is out of control. Right? I watched the whole fight. And then, of course, the YouTube algorithm was like, ‘Oh, you want that here.’ Watch another one. “

Irwin got caught up in the YouTube episode and consumed more views. That’s when Irwin had an epiphany.

“At this point, I said to myself, ‘You know, Mark, you can beat a lot of these guys,'” Erwin said. “Like, I wasn’t too impressed with the boxing quality of a lot of people I watched. And so this planted a seed in my mind. Then the next day, again, by chance, I’m browsing my phone, and I see BKFC doing open trials in Tampa, Florida, two weeks from today” .

“And I just decided it was a sign from the universe. I bought myself a plane ticket, and flew across the country for rehearsals. I was one of five people who won a contract with the promotion.”

Erwin proved to be a talented boxer who conquered his opponents in his two fights in his new sport. He played his first match with BKFC and his second with him BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle.

Erwin’s offers were dynamic enough to earn him a long-term contract with BYB. His dynamic personality, strong power and impressive aerodynamic strength make him a force in the lightweight division.

Erwin keeps moving forward and hopes that this will lead to him becoming a world champion.

“I just signed a long-term agreement with BYB and at the moment my focus is entirely on winning the world championship in nude boxing. So I am really excited to be here with this promotion and chasing this world title.”
